What is a Mandala?
A mandala is a circle design. It shows harmony, peace, and balance.
The word “mandala” comes from Sanskrit, an old language from India. It means “sacred circle”.
People in Hinduism and Buddhism use mandalas to meditate and relax. Monks in Tibet make mandalas with colored sand to show that everything changes with time.
Today, many people draw or color mandalas to feel calm and reduce stress. It is also a nice way to create art.
Each color and shape has a meaning:
-
Blue – peace and calm
-
Red – energy and love
-
Green – hope and balance
-
Circle – unity
-
Square – stability
