Summative Test #1 – Rhythm

 Study Instructions (Before the Test)

Students must:

  • Study and practice Videos 1 to 7 from the playlist.

  • Practice clapping, counting, and saying the Kodály syllables:

    • Ta

    • Ta–a

    • Ta–a–a–a

    • Ti-ti

    • Sh (for rests)

Test Instructions (In Class)

  • Students will interpret Videos 8, 9, and 10 from the playlist.

  • Students must:

    • Keep a steady beat

    • Clap the rhythm

    • Say the correct Kodály syllables

    • Respect musical rests (silence)

Group Work

  • Students may perform:

    • Individually (recommended), or

    • In groups of up to 3 students

  • The evaluation is group-based.

  • If one student makes a mistake, points are deducted from the whole group.

  • For this reason, the best option is to perform individually.
